kitchen-table activism this Thursday (BOS area)

my suspects post (almost)...

The fabulous hammercock and I hosting a letter-writing party, a
grass-roots effort to try to increase voter participation, using
addresses and materials provided by Mainstreet Moms Oppose Bush.

When: Thursday, September 23, from 7:30 pm until... ?

Where: Generic LSE, good ol' Camberville

What: Write letters to potential voters in swing states, begging them to register.

Why: Every vote matters... in THOSE states.

How: We provide names and addresses, sample letters, stamps, voter-education materials, and a fun social atmosphere; you write letters; we mail them.

We will have some snacks and beverages on hand. Take-out food orders
will be put in at some point. Feel free to bring your own munchies, to share or not.

Allergen alert: Two cats in residence. Don't forget the meds.

Questions to me or to hammercock. Flames cheerfully ignored.

Registration deadlines in most states are rushing up. Just think, if Nevada, Oregon, or Minnesota turns into 2004's version of Florida, how much you will wish you had done this...

happy things

I lost my cell phone and one of my car keys, but found them both today!

Having a piano in the house is great! I'm too inept at music to touch it, but Sweetie is now practicing quite regularly.

Oh, the relief of having my own kitchen again, not sharing with housemates! Sharing a kitchen with an S.O. is totally different from sharing a kitchen with non-S.O. people, it's not a drag at all.
