What sort of summer-camp like things are available for 5 year olds? I know that a lot of gyms of various sorts have kids programs, but I would like for Sophia to spend a lot of time outside during the summer. I would also like to not completely give up my career to take her outside myself ALL the time.

I had a good time at Camp Thoreau in Concord, but that was 3 decades ago, and they've since moved. (And eep, spendy.)

Drumlin Farm has some kids' day-camp programs, but they're only 2 weeks.

We're far out for you , but we always loved the Camp at Nashoba (http://www.skinashoba.com/summer/camp/). Not too spendy, and they spent alot of time outside. 1 hour swim lesson,1 hour free swim, nature hikes that involve walking up a ski mountain. They're also laid back. If scorching hot they add swim time, if rainy more arts and crafts. Kids always fell dead asleep on the 5 minute drive home

the boys

I'm doing the schlep and taking the boys there this summer as I was really unhappy about the supervision at Woburn's YMCA camp this past summer.

If that's what you want to do

We could potentially carpool. They will be going for most weeks except the three they will be spending at CollegeGate.

I have no kid-camp recs, but thought you might like this.

That could be potentially really awesome! It really mitigates the greenhouse guilt of taking Sophia to a camp so far away, if you have to make the drive too anyway. So we just need to figure out how to get all three children buckled into the back seat of the Scion. I assume both boys are in booster seats? Just the bottom part of the booster seat? Sophia is in a booster seat that also has a seat back, so that the seatbelt is threaded correctly (she's still pretty short).

I will look seriously at that camp. First-hand rave reviews count for a lot.

Which weeks will the boys be at CollegeGate?

Would you be able to take the kids to camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at least from June 22 to August 5? I would, of course, be able to take the kids to camp any number of Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Are you sure they don't let you sign up for more than one 2-week session? I have left them a message, asking just that... If you can sign up for multiple sessions, Drumlin Farm is my leading contender at this point.
