I do understand the trials and tribulations involved with taming a raging addiction demon, but as I'm sure you're well aware it's a fight worth fighting.
There are plenty enough things shackling us to any given pattern of behavior or consumption, the fewer the better in my book :)
Something that's helped, for me anyway, is to make a point of not driking coffee/consuming caffeine on weekends, and also to skip at least two days out of the week. I find that if I can maintain that pattern I stay blissfully unaddicted and yet can still enjoy that morning burst of caffeine induced 'energy' (false though it may be :) when I want/need to without having to deal with an addiction.
