what marriage means to me
Mar. 2nd, 2003 03:34 pmMarriage means never being able to take the standard deduction if your spouse is itemizing.
Marriage means having to call your spouse repeatedly to ask whether he's itemizing. Marriage means fretting about whether spouse is going to forget to tell his accountant that you're doing the standard deduction. Marriage means not knowing how many filing extensions spouse is taking to put off getting together with the accountant, and thus never knowing that the standard/itemized issue has been closed. Marriage means forever awaiting that whack over the head from the IRS for doing the wrong thing due to lack of communication with the spouse.
