May. 1st, 2011 06:16 pmFor the comment period to comment on the BLM's asinine plan to mine for uranium near the Grand Canyon has been extended to May 4th! (That's this Wednesday, for those of you not keeping track.)
I have not managed to write anything eloquent on the subject of what an outrageous idea this is. But, at least going to get my 2 cents in, making the obvious points. For example: whoever did the calculation that wow this will make a lot of money for the U.S. government probably did so before the accident in Japan? Have they since then factored in what that is likely to do to the price of uranium? I mean, who the fuck wants nuclear power any more anyway?
