In the midst of all this, I am in the process of moving from one apartment to another in Brookline.

Actually, it's slightly more complicated than that. Read more... ) But never mind all that complication.

I have a few items of furniture that I can't tackle myself. The dining table and the six-foot-wide shelving unit need to be moved either this evening (Wednesday), or Saturday morning. I think the dining table could be lifted by a couple of strong people. It's small but very heavy because the base consists of shelving, so I can't lift it onto a luggage cart. The shelving unit needs to be tipped down, disassembled, carried over in pieces, re-assembled at the new place, and tipped back up. Some of you may have been here for the initial assembly of the shelving unit and remember that process.

Oh yeah, the apartments are in buildings that are next door to each other. So I do not need a truck.

Any volunteers?

Actually, it would be helpful to have a pickup truck or van to take the large furniture items the approximately 600 feet from the loading dock of one building to the loading dock of the other building. I was thinking "but that puts us at the far corner of the building, away from my apartment", but it would still reduce the distance that the table has to be carried overall. Also, the elevator near the loading dock is larger than the elevator near my apartment, which would make things a lot less awkward there.

So, while this can certainly be done without any kind of vehicle, if someone could bring one it would very much be appreciated!
