Brookline politics
May. 6th, 2015 06:25 amI can stop being all worked up about the local politics for now. Yesterday Brookline went to the polls, and the results are in. It was a sweep for the more-resources-for-schools faction. Not only were both tax override measures passed, but the vocally pro-override candidates for selectman and school committee were the top vote-getters. Question #1 passed with a much bigger margin than I would've foreseen, given all the noise the NO campaign was making. This is in spite of the NO campaign's last-minute sleezy campaign mailing, full of lies. Wow, the average Brookline voter is intelligent, after all. Based on the number of NO and Lodish lawn signs that popped up early on, I was getting worried about that...
