Apparently there was no building permit for the hot tub???

????????

!!!!!!

GRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK. Fine. I will have the hot tub removed. I had kinda wanted it removed as a landlord all along. I had tried to hire a handyman to remove it, and he ghosted on me. I had begged Jess to try to get Jamie to do the job, but, nope. Now I am stuck with paying a Republican to remove the hot tub (this is confirmed-- saw the bumper sticker), as foreseen all along.

The thing that really makes me go FUCK is that the money I could've spent on having the hot tub removed, I sent to the mortgage company to pay down the mortgage. I thought, well, the house is doing OK, why pour more money into it when I will be renting it out for x more years, when the tenants might just mess it up again, whereas any money I put towards the mortgage will pay me back after I sell the house with 3.49% interest guaranteed. This math is totally wrong if I can't sell the house at all as long as the building inspector is grumping at me and cash money would make it easier to do things to appease the building inspector.

It's more than just destroying the hot tub, which I could do if I bought, borrowed, or rented a crowbar and a sawzall. There's plumbing to be capped off and decking to be replaced (this hot tub is tall and goes into a hole in the deck).

Just to do something with all my rage, though, I would like to start on the process myself. Does anyone have a crowbar I can borrow, or other implements of destruction? I have some wrecking to do.
