Nov. 10th, 2008 07:44 pmIt's great that there are on-line forums where people-- anybody, not just the writing staff of PC World etc., really just anybody-- can write their own reviews of software. You learn a lot of useful stuff, for example that the latest release of Retrospect Client for OS X did not fix the really annoying, terrible bug.
But.
You have to filter the comments in your own mind to filter out the noise.
For example, a really slick CVS client? Totally panned by the reviewers, who just could not figure out how to use it to refill prescription orders. *snicker snicker snicker*
