OK, so I didn't miss the LJ permanent account sale after all, as many many many of you have pointed out. But when I THOUGHT I had missed the sale, it lead me to question my financial priorities, and the general usefulness of the paid account features, and my long-term commitment to LJ, and I came to the conclusion that I should at least put off paying for LJ. This decision stands, for now.

Glad to hear that Facebook isn't going to suck the life out of LJ any time soon, though.
