No more USPS deliveries

chhotiiUnless we ever get the video surveillance of our mailbox going, I'm not going to consider delivery via USPS to our house a valid delivery option. Might as well chuck my merchandise into the dumpster at the sender's end.
The mail delivery person claims that she actually remembers putting a small parcel into our mailbox on Thursday. This leaves me with nothing to say to the seller. I'm sure he won't send me another after the post office assures him that my mailbox received the first one. Now why would the mail carrier say that? 3 possibilities that I can think of:
1) She just doesn't want to get hassled into trying to look for it.
2) She is not motivated to put in the mental effort to figure out whether she truly remembers the parcel, because she hates us. She has reason to hate us: my mother buys tons of stuff through catalogs, so she gets huge piles of catalogs in the mail every day, and we are not good about checking the mailbox every day. So sometimes she has had to look for a box to put the overflow on the porch, or something like that. We really have done irrevocable damage to our relationship with our mail carrier.
3) She did put it in our mailbox, but someone stole it. The punks in the neighborhood hate us, and they do take it out on the mailbox. Shortly after the election, someone beat our mailbox into shreds-- a coincidence? I think not.
