chhotiiThe Massachusetts special election for Kerry's Senate seat is not shaping up at all as I expected.
Scott Brown isn't running. Apparently neither is Tisei, or other likely Republicans in the state, such as Bill Weld. So this should be a cakewalk for the Dems, right?
But on the Democratic side there is a primary race brewing. Ed Markey vs. Stephen Lynch. I don't know a lot about Markey, but he seems alright, policy-wise. Lynch, on the other hand, is anti-reproductive-choice (I won't call it "pro-life"). WTF???!!! Argh! Yuck!!!! I don't care what his party affiliations are, anyone who is not in favor of complete reproductive freedom for women does not represent me.
So I actually care this time about the primary race. I want to see Markey win. But I fear that although the DNC told him when to run, he missed the starting gun. Primary is at the end of April. However, Markey's website (last I checked on Sunday) was pretty much content-free. I signed up on his website with my e-mail address, and have yet to get a single one of the obligatory daily e-mails you would expect.
