Sep. 20th, 2014 09:01 pmPrinter has been parked, for now, at the house of friends who could really use a working printer. Eventually, I may be able to do something with Metro shelving to turn a corner into cleverly-arranged usable vertical space, and thereby have somewhere to put the printer. So if it starts to get really annoying that I don't have a printer... I have a plan to put into action. And I don't have to implement the plan right now. And I have the trunk of my car back.
Several hard drives have been triaged, and some have been converted into coasters. Very round, very very shiny coasters.
It does not look like I'm going to make it to the MIT Flea as a vender this month. I am low on cope,
marmota is low on cope, and kid- and car-shuffling logistics are going to get in the way. Anyway, minus the printer, the pile of stuff I might sell is just not compelling enough. Immediate decrufting is going to involve the computer recycling center, and the curb.
I deplore that we live in a throw-away culture, but Moore's law guarantees that yesterday's treasure is today's trash. In the realm of electronics, anyway.
