Dec. 15th, 2003 05:50 pmHaving caught Saddam is all well and good, but I'm irritated at how the Bush administration has used Iraq to divert attention away from the fact that we cannot catch Osama bin Laden. How successfully Iraq has been used in this way. The Bushies make a big deal of how they are doing something about terrorism, but nobody mentions that Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks of 9/11. Saddam may have killed thousands of people, but Osama bin Laden killed thousands of people in the city in which I was born. It makes no sense to me that after we were attacked, our military started thrashing out in all directions.
Today I was on IRC briefly. People were talking about the capture of Saddam Hussein. I took the opportunity to complain about this aspect of the "war on terror". What about Osama bin Laden? Why can't we catch him too? How about some attention back on Osama? I asked. SilverCat said that it wasn't surprising that Osama hadn't been caught, he had so much military training, blah blah blah. Furthermore, he said, the only people still asking this about Osama are the people who "Just Don't Get It."
This made me quite irate.
I must not look at news or talk on IRC during the workday. Had a hard time concentrating on VBA and Excel's weird quirks for a while after that.
