Transportation meme
Feb. 27th, 2003 09:58 pm How do you commute to work?
Bicycle, when the weather permits. (Which it has not, this winter.) Otherwise, usually the bus. I'll drive if I need my car during the day. Walking is sometimes possible, if I have plenty of time.
What's the longest commute you've ever had?
Not sure if this would count, but... Living (officially) in West Springfield, MA, and working in Red Bank, NJ. But we rented a second apartment in NJ and just made the trip "home" once a week.
Second place: Boston to Worcester: but that was just a contract gig, so I only went in 3 days a week, at most.
Do you have any bumper stickers, etc. on your car?
Bumper stickers: "Re-elect Gore/Lieberman in 2004". (Hint: guess what I think of the validity of the 2000 election.) "Share the Road with Bicycles". A Brown University sticker. Various expired resident parking permit stickers.
What would be your dream car?
A 1991 Honda Civic hatchback, the cutest car ever made. Seriously. I've lusted after these since 1991. But back then, I was too poor to get a new car; and now that I'm huge equity-holder in a company successful enough to lease me a car, I can't get an old used car. So, alas, unrequited love.
What makes you mad when you're driving?
Of course, the usual bad behavior by other drivers. Also, inexplicably, I get all bent out of shape when cars are parked on Mem Drive near Harvard. I don't understand why this is allowed.
