You made a police report, right? Often they can find the car. When my car was stolen (at Brown), it turned up 36 hours later in Fall River, in not too bad a shape. And they caught the person who did it too, so I got $ paid back.
Of course. This morning was spent filing the police report and associated hassles. Need that for the insurance, who will hopefully pay off the leasing company. (When I say "my car", I'm using "my" to mean just possession, not ownership; the car is leased by my company, so come October the leasing company would want either their car back or a pile of money.)
Even if insurance weren't an issue and I owned the car, I would want the police looking for it. For closure, at least, if nothing else. I'm curious as to what they might find. When the police found Rich's car, the thieves had stripped off most of the doors, most of the glass, unbolted but not taken the front seats, and stolen all his baseball gear plus one bowling shoe. It was a wreck. We visited his car in the junkyard to say goodbye.
Oh, I'm pretty pessimistic about that. They take Hondas for parts. The twisted sick perverted fuckheads who soup up small practical Japanese cars and drag-race them need a continual supply of replacement parts.
