Oct. 6th, 2007 06:27 pmToday we went to Topsfield Fair. So much fun and excitement for Sophia!
Notes on how to do it better next year:
1) bring hat to shade eyes;
2) food ranges from really good to mediocre; don't settle for something so-so before exploring thoroughly. I had a cheesesteak sandwich, which was just so-so. If I had held out, I could have gotten turkey dinner, or baked potato stuffed with chili, or other more interesting stuff. Fortunately we held out for interesting dessert, and got some really terrific blueberry crisp. (Between that and the cider doughnuts, I'm all set for dessert for a while.)
3) next time check out the area with the other merry-go-round, the one that we didn't see until we left; apparently there were more little-kid-friendly amusements over there.
Overall, though, a successful outing. We had fun looking at sheep, llamas, goats, ducks, rabbits, horses, cows, pumpkins, etc.
