The Good: Potential buyer still seems to be interested. Interested enough to call my realtor back. The prospective buyer is so interested, that she's working on due diligence on the property, and called Town Hall...

The Bad: ...and found out that there are a pile of open (not finalized) building permits in my house's file at Town Hall. Fortunately I had just been to Town Hall yesterday, on a quest to get some other information to settle a stupid debate with my realtor, and had been told about these, and I had started the process of getting these resolved. But the general contractors, having already been paid for the work years ago, probably have not that great an incentive to jump right on dealing with these, so who knows how long these will take to resolve.

The Confusing: This is the buyer's #1 question about the house? Whether the town building inspector had anything on file regarding the house? More urgent than "does my husband like the house?" Are open building permits such a scary issue that it's not worth scheduling an hour of her husband's time on the weekend to see the house? Also, she upbraided my realtor about not telling her about the open building permits when they spoke on Sunday. This is the first thing you expect the listing realtor to say about a house, whether there are any open building permits? Again, is this such a scary issue that "we'll work on wrapping those up while you decide whether you like the house" is not going to work?
