Saturday morning yoga class
Sep. 6th, 2008 01:40 pmThe regular instructor is back from her summer vacation. I notice that the attendees of this particular yoga class are generally fairly buff. That's okay, if the class is advanced; I know enough to modify the pose, or do something entirely different, if what the instructor is leading is too challenging for where I'm at. But, oh yeah, this is the instructor who likes to start class with about 5 solid minutes in downward dog. I'm okay with 5 minutes of downward dog... after I've warmed up. Going straight into a very long time in this pose after driving to the gym and doing nothing more strenuous than change into my workout clothes makes my shoulders burn with exertion, and just gets the practice off to the wrong start. Note to self: get to the gym early before this class, and warm up beforehand.
