Sep. 24th, 2008 04:54 pmI find it bizarre that McCain is calling for Friday's debate to be delayed on account of the financial market turmoil. (If you don't believe it, you can read it here.) Um... how much of a crisis does it have to be to stop holding debates, 6 weeks out from the election? However much, I don't think this measures up. I mean, yeah, it would have been tacky to have debates just after September 11, 2001, but this ain't no 9/11. This is not, like, vaporizing people with jet fuel or crushing them under rubble. Really, on Main Street, it's a very slow-moving crisis. It's an emergency on Wall Street, but Wall Street is where people go to gamble, and in a gambling den, you should expect things to be exciting.
Really, what this is all about, I think, is that McCain's people know he will get creamed in the debate, so they would just love any excuse to put it off. I don't think McCain is thinking too well on his feet these days-- why else would they generally keep him from talking to reporters (which he used to do)?
Yet more evidence that McCain is starting to show signs of neurological decline.

I'm expecting Shrub to declare a state of emergency and postpone the election next...
