If I ran a shop that repaired snow throwers, I would strongly consider staying open a bit longer today. Even if the shop always closed at 13:00. Today, of all days, one might get just a bit more business, you think? Just a thought.

Snow thrower breakage isn't always easy to fix on the spot. You'd likely have to leave the thrower and return in a week or three or more to get it back anyhow.

the frustration is obvious today with many people having failures/issues. definitely an opportunity for competition :)

as for a policy of always closing early... might be true for occasional emergencies, but maybe the shop is a small operation, retirement entertainment or something, and long ago the owner set a policy of their schedule, their way, their rules. it's their autonomy i suppose. i can respect that, even if it's not fantastic for my schedule. my mechanic is that way, but then again, they do GOOD work for a GOOD price.

Do they also USE snow throwers? Maybe they're out making money cleaning other people's driveways and walks.
