random trip notes
Feb. 22nd, 2009 09:57 pmSophia loves to ski!!!
I am twice the skier I was before this weekend. Of course, being only .0001 skier before this weekend, that's not saying much....
OMG my legs hurt.
We got socked with a HUGE snowstorm on the way home. What an awful drive. We were going to drop off kid clothes at Bridget's house on the way home, but it turned out that just getting home pushed our cope level to the limit. I called from the road to say we weren't going to make it because of the snow, and she was like, "um, snow?" Apparently at that point it was just rain even as far north as her home. So we thought that as we got farther south it would turn to rain and things would get easier. Nope, snow followed us all the way home; the car slid rather than turn to go into our driveway.
Boneheads in SUV's driving too fast and sliding into the ditches all the way.
If you try to go to the Common Man Restaurant in Concord, NH, do not try to use a GPS navigator to get there. Argh.
Rich bought skis.
We gotta find some place to ski that isn't so far to drive to.

Date: 2009-02-24 04:27 pm (UTC)My favorite place for day trips is Cannon, which is about a 2¼-hour drive, and they've recently put in a dedicated beginner area and ski school building. We could switch off on skiing with the kids when they're not in ski school or childcare. Benjamin historically has not done well in random childcare situations, e.g. Arisia babysitting, but I'm assuming he'll get better about that.
