For example: when buying a car, if the price quoted at you by the salescritter is not dropping fast enough, you say "I'm not interested in spending that much" and turn, firmly, towards the door. Negotiating my car purchase went fine because I knew the firm upper limit on what I would pay for that car and I had no problem with the idea of just leaving if they expected more than that.
So... Now... He says... "we have to take this offer seriously." Like hell we do. By whose order? I'm not going to be twisted around and manipulated. Pfffbbbbbbbbbbt.
