Sophia's picky eating
Sep. 15th, 2011 05:26 pmMaybe Sophia isn't a such a picky eater, maybe she just eats the way people eat when they have no motivations to eat healthy.
Here is a list of foods that Sophia will pretty consistently eat:
pizza
chicken nuggets
french fries (or any other form of fried potato)
buttered bread
buttered noodles
buttered rice
salty chicken soup
hamburgers
ice cream
Hmmm, I guess that sounds like what most Americans eat most of the time, huh?
The difference between Sophia and the average American is that she doesn't much go for salty, highly processed meat. Surprisingly, she's not interested in bacon. Only occasionally will she eat a hot dog. And she doesn't like lunch meat.
Not liking lunch meat makes brown-bag lunches challenging. Not much of the above list is suitable for brown-bagging, when you have neither a fridge to keep your lunch in nor a microwave to cook it at lunchtime. Thus the typical anti-nutrition American relies a lot on lunch meats. This doesn't work out for Sophia.
Got word from the school that they now consider Sun Butter an allergy risk, so no more of that allowed at school. Irk, no ideas what to pack for Sophia for lunches.
