Getting two signals, from 1) parallel port of computer and 2) photodiode taped to the computer screen, into an EEG headbox... Needed to electrically isolate the computer from the headbox, reduce the voltages, and get the signals to be relative to the same ground without interfering with each other.
Cool! What does it do? I'm guessing some kind of data signal conversion...but the parallel port cable seems such a throwback and you're only using 1 data line - who still uses those, other than the DIY CNC builders?
It's not the top-of-the-line EEG, not really designed for the research market I guess, so it has no capability built in to take an input from a computer or anything else. The only input it takes is physiological signals. So we have to hack it... by faking physiological signals.
