Here's a stellar advantage of having a gas stove: If we do lose power, I can light the stove with a lighter, and we can have warm food anytime. Of course, if the power does go out, I will be very reluctant to open the refrigerator, to try to keep it as cold as possible for as long as possible and minimize food lossage. (Rich just bought a pile of meat, which should last us for weeks.) But of course in the pantry we have canned soup, canned green beans, rice, pasta, tuna, single-serving UHT milk, etc, etc. Good thing we have a manual can opener rather than an electric can opener.

Yes! One of the things I checked when I bought my newfangled gas stove with electric starters (rather than pilot lights) was to check that it could be started without electricity.

Yes, this is one of the rare times I'm glad of my antique gas stove that doesn't even need electricity to run the oven. (Which doesn't make me any less eager to replace it with something more modern.)

Rich also has a 2KW ryobi generator in your backyard Autosub storage unit.

Yes, I know. I'd rather not have to hassle with it, though.
