important primary election this Tuesday

chhotiiTuesday, April 30, is the date of primary in the special election to fill John Kerry's seat in the U.S. Senate. This time, the primary is very important. We have two candidate on the Democratic side, and they are both very strong candidates, so who knows what will happen. And they have very different views. Ed Markey is the pro-choice, pro-environment, pro-Obamacare candidate running on the Democratic side.
Even though I do not have time for this (in the midst of trying to buy a condo before school lottery time, and with a kid to look after, and way behind in work at my paying job), I am planning to devote this weekend and Tuesday to trying to increase Markey's chances. The way to do that (besides give money, and talk up Ed Markey on your social media) seems to be "Get Out The Vote": knocking on doors and making phone-calls, not to try to persuade anyone, but just to remind people who are likely to vote for Markey that the election is Tuesday and that they need to vote.
I could really use your help!!! Ed could really use your help!!! You do not even have to talk to people if you don't want to. Here are things that you could do that would help me out hugely, if you don't do phone calls:
1) Drive me around while I am canvassing. I am planning to do as much canvassing as possible this weekend (that's going up to people's doors and reminding them to vote in person). We are going to try to knock on the doors of all the identified Markey supporters in this suburban town to remind them to vote. But liberal Democrats are rather sparsely sprinkled across this suburban sprawl, so having a driver drive me from house to house would make me so much more time-efficient.
2) Sit at my house and do data entry. Whenever someone doing phone-calls or canvassing finds a Lynch supporter or someone who has already voted, this information needs to go into the database right away, so that we aren't making phone calls to Lynch supporters or to people who have already voted.
If coming all the way out here to the 'burbs doesn't work for you, show up at the Somerville office; they will be glad to put you to work driving, or bringing donuts, or data entry.
