call for volunteers

We could use some more volunteers to help prepare for The Rich Event, which will be in Worcester on the afternoon of Saturday, June 7th.
* A delegation of people to go to Worcester and help prep, clean, and set up in the afternoon/evening the day before (Friday, June 6th). We can also go out there on Thursday, but that's a school night; and/or Saturday morning, but that seems too last-minute. Hopefully the bulk of the efforts will occur on the 6th. Could someone start a Google doc for these volunteers to sign up, and post it to the Facebook event page? Suggested fields include: name, available Thursday?, available Friday?, available Saturday morning?, cell phone, e-mail, and do you need a ride?
* A couple of people to help Tamar and Persis make sandwiches in the kitchen in Worcester on the morning of the 7th.
* A Table Czar: someone to figure out (in discussion with Persis) how many folding tables we need, ask around to find out if other folks have folding tables we can borrow, and figure out how these tables will get from where they live to Worcester and back. (Persis has a number of card tables, and I'm sure there's one long rectangular folding table at the house; surely other people must have folding tables hanging around as well. So hopefully we don't need to rent.) Oh, and table clothes too. I have a few, probably not enough.
* Taxi Dispatcher to take charge of getting people from the MTBA stop, Union Station, in Worcester, to the Worcester Artists Group location. It's only a couple of miles; trivial to drive but bothersome to expect people to walk. People will probably arrive on the train that gets to Worcester at 12:10 or 2:10. There will be plenty of people with vehicles volunteering to pick people up from the train station. The Taxi Dispatcher will be the point person for those volunteers. When people show up at Union Station needing a ride, whose phone should they call? Or should there be someone standing outside Union Station with a sign that says "The Rich Event" who will collect people and call for the cars? As Taxi Dispatcher, you can figure that out.
* Someone to do a dramatic reading of some very silly song lyrics (and maybe some serious ones as well) at the memorial service on the 7th.
* Diana is still looking for a projector (AFIAK): see the Facebook page for details.
Please contact
persis to volunteer.
Thank you,
Alex
