Here's the complete list of things currently in the apartment:
* some Baitcon stuff
* lamp and timer that I'm giving away
Hopefully these items will be loaded into a car going to Baitcon tomorrow, and be unpacked on Sunday... elsewhere else.
* Comcast box
I have to take this to Comcast so they will terminate service.
* 2 futon mattresses (4)
* 3 tall shelves (6)
* loft bed (4)
These things I can't move without help.
* small bookshelf (1)
* Sophia's desk (2)
* 2 floor lamps (2)
* 3 chairs (3)
* rotating floor mirror with shelves (2)
* box of all Legos (1)
These things I can wrestle myself if I have to, but will be a whole lot easier with help.
* a small pile of light things (1)
* a small plant
* footrest (1)
* Sophia's clock radio
* stack of plastic bins
* small white board
* the Lava lamp (1)
* a box full of desk lamps (fragile!) (1)
* trash cans and cleaning supplies
* the remaining kitchen stuff (1)
These things I can move myself... but would just be quicker with help.
* computer desk
* rug
These things shall go into the dumpster if nobody wants them.
* leftover boxes and other packing supplies
* TV tray
These things shall go into the car to go back to the house.
Assuming we get hold of a luggage cart, I estimate 30 person-trips from one apartment to the other. (See the numbers in parenthesis, for example 2 mattresses at 2 people per mattress trip = 4 person-trips. Items with no number should fit on the luggage cart with the preceding item.) Eeeks!!!! I thought I had very little stuff left in the apartment... it's a very small apartment, and I've been moving things out of it already... agh, panic panic... Well, if there's six of us, that's only 5 trips per person. Should be doable in a couple of hours.
I have lined up to help:
happyfunpaul, probably
dhs, I think
persis too,
ron_newman, hopefully Josh, and
drwex (and maybe
theloriest too?) if I'm desperate. Also probably
rmd's truck, which is useful even though it's only about 600 feet from the loading dock of one building to the loading dock of the other. The saint-like
ceo will be watching my child along with his own children.
I am trying to clear it with the tenant that we start this process at 5:00 pm. If someone could come earlier than 5:00, that would be good, because we can start partially disassembling the loft bed, which I can make no headway on by myself. I will make there be pizza or the like.

Date: 2014-06-27 07:05 pm (UTC)BTW, is there a place to park a car "nearby" for more than the two hours the park lot allows? (It's fine if it's someplace a 10-minute walk away!) I could bicycle instead (I could even come from work) but I would prefer not to have a 12.5 mile mostly uphill ride home at night after helping move. :-)
