still not hanging stuff up in the kitchen
Nov. 2nd, 2014 06:37 pmStill figuring out the handy-MAN stuff.
The always-made-of-awesome
ceo loaned me a drill bit. But still no joy drilling holes in the wall. The tool that I have, which looks like a power drill, is in fact an impact driver. I don't know if the fact that it's an impact driver is the relevant difference. But it doesn't take a regular drill bit. According to the user manual, which I have now downloaded, "This driver is intended for use with drill and driver bits with a 1/4” hex shank and ball detent recess." No wonder I hadn't really been able to figure out how to attach accessories quite right. The drill bit just rolls around loosely in the hole-- not the least bit effective.
Does anyone have either a plain ol' power drill, or a 3/16" drill bit with a 1/4” hex shank and ball detent recess, that I could borrow?

But, it might be easier to find someone with a drill that has a normal chuck.
