chhotiiStill an open building permit, but there's progress, but argh.
Building inspector came out today and he just had to find something wrong, didn't he? Because it's my house. Nasty Woman's house can't possibly be in compliance. And he found something: the stair railings, which Patrick and Howard had installed in a previous go-around, do not have returns at the ends.
I could've sworn he had seen these stair railings before. Why could he have not flagged this before. I approve of returns on railings-- it's annoying when you get snagged by the end of a rail-- but for pete's sake. This just goes on an on.
Fortunately, he's truly sick of coming to my house, and he trusts the contractor, so we are going to wrap this up without the building inspector coming to my house again. Howie is going to come back to the house and fix it, and send pictures to the building inspector, who will then sign off on everything. Howie would've fixed it on the spot, but all the tools have been left at the job site in Dover. Either he manages to borrow tools from a local friend tonight, or brings tools back from Dover tomorrow night.
