Edwards, huh?

Kerry expected to be the leader of the pack. But Edwards???

I'm glad I never got to the point of pouring time, money, and energy into Dean. Of course, I do like him, he resonates with my sense of outrage. But I've been worried... is he just a speculative bubble? He appeals to my friends, does that mean he's too weird for the majority of voters?

I have nothing against Gephardt (sp?), but I'm kinda glad he's disappointed. The sooner the field narrows, the sooner they will all start to concentrate on Bush-bashing, right?

Primary still in turmoil. Right. I'm going to concentrate on thinking about voter reg, check out moveon.org, stuff like that.

I have plenty against Gephardt: he's a protectionist, and I firmly believe that protectionism is a dumb idea. His dropping out of the race not only removes the possibility of his getting the nomination, but reduces the chances of it winding up in the Democratic party platform.

i supported dean early on, not because i necessarily thought he should get the nomination (and i'm still honestly not sure if i think he should), but because i wanted to push some of the anti-iraq-war, pro-gay, pro-freedom sort of leftie cruft into high profile for the democrats. and i think it's worked -- most of the other candidates seem to have nudged themselves to the left.

I'm not counting anyone as being out or in the lead yet.
The trick is to keep reminding yourself that any media outlet is trying to fill airtime with vacuous commentary and projections to sell commercials.
Worse, behind that are the owners of the media outlets who likely don't want any of the democratic hopefuls to look good, so they'll keep skewing the reports of who is "in the lead" on a weekly basis until more voters give up in disgust.
