Today at work I attempted to re-partition a hard drive in preparation for Linux without destroying the NTFS partition. In the process, the NTFS partition died. Fortunately I had warned the user of this possibility, and stressed to him the importance of backing up anything important, but still he did give a little gasp of distress when I pronounced the NTFS partition dead. Other than learning a few bits of trivia (such as "how to restore Microsoft's MBR" and "yes Red Hat really does really strongly suggest making a swap partition"), nothing else actually accomplished today.
Came home, sifted through snail mail, found all my W2s and 1099s. Yay, don't have to hassle any lame payroll departments about not getting these, But, boo, no more excuses left to procrastinate doing taxes.
All this makes me very restless. Tonight, either OPN, or beer.
