chhotiiAh-hah. I had installed the whole developer's kit on those other machines. That's why they could cc. Forgot that, because the whole experience was filed under "getting cvs up" rather than "install all of developer's tools" in my brain.
Much calmer, now that I know it's not that Apple has pulled the rug out from under me. But still seem to be hosed when trying to download what needs to be downloaded; IE not settable to passive mode. How did I do this before???
